Complaints & Appeals
Balkanistic Worlds aims to handle complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and promptly.
Appeals
Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that:
-
a significant error occurred in the review or editorial process;
-
relevant information was overlooked;
-
the decision was based on a demonstrable misunderstanding of the manuscript.
Appeals should be submitted in writing to the editorial office and should clearly explain the grounds for the appeal. Appeals should address specific issues rather than simply disagreeing with the decision.
The editorial team may seek an additional independent assessment when appropriate. The decision following an appeal is normally final.
Complaints
Complaints concerning editorial procedures, peer review, publication ethics, or other aspects of journal operations should be submitted to the editorial office.
Complaints are treated confidentially and investigated according to their nature and seriousness.
Where appropriate, the journal follows relevant COPE guidance for handling complaints and appeals.
