About the Journal

Balkanistic Worlds is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal devoted to the study of Southeast Europe, the Balkans, the Black Sea region, and the Caucasus in their broader European and global contexts.

The journal provides an interdisciplinary forum for original research, critical discussion, and comparative perspectives on the historical and contemporary processes that have shaped these regions and their societies. It brings together scholars working across the humanities and social sciences and encourages dialogue between different academic traditions, methodologies, and regional perspectives.

The journal welcomes contributions in fields including history, anthropology, sociology, literature, linguistics, cultural studies, political and social history, philosophy, archive studies, gender studies, minority studies, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Particular attention is given to research that develops comparative approaches, examines connections between different regions and communities, and contributes to a deeper understanding of the cultural, social, political, and historical diversity of Southeast Europe, the Black Sea region, and the Caucasus.
