Submission Process
Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that fall within the scope of Balkanistic Worlds.
1. Prepare Your Manuscript
Before submission, please ensure that your manuscript:

follows the journal's Author Guidelines and Manuscript Preparation requirements;

is within the applicable length limit;

follows APA 7th edition;
-
is prepared for double-blind peer review;

includes the required declarations and supporting information.
2. Prepare the Submission Files
A submission should normally include:
Title Page
Containing:

manuscript title;
-
author name(s);
-
institutional affiliation(s);
-
ORCID iD, where available;
-
corresponding author's email;
-
funding information, where applicable;
-
conflict of interest statement.
Anonymized Manuscript
The main manuscript should not contain the authors' names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or other identifying information.
Cover Letter
The cover letter should confirm that:

the manuscript is original;
-
it is not under consideration by another journal;
-
all authors have approved the submission;
-
relevant conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
3. Submit Your Manuscript
Manuscripts may be submitted through the journal's submission system or, where applicable, by email to:
The Editorial Office may request additional information or files when necessary.
4. Initial Editorial Assessment
After submission, the Editorial Team checks the manuscript for:

relevance to the journal's scope;

basic scholarly quality;
-
originality and ethical compliance;
-
compliance with the submission requirements.
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements or fall outside the journal's scope may be declined before external peer review.
5. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are normally sent to at least two independent reviewers.
Balkanistic Worlds uses a double-blind peer-review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another.
The average review period is approximately 4–8 weeks, although actual processing times may vary.
6. Editorial Decision
Possible decisions include:

When revisions are requested, authors should normally submit a revised manuscript within 30 days, together with a point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments.
7. Acceptance and Publication
After acceptance, the manuscript proceeds to editorial preparation and publication.
Authors may be asked to confirm bibliographic information, declarations, figures, tables, and other publication details and to review the final version before publication.
Published articles receive a DOI and are made immediately available through the journal's Open Access platform.
8. Publication Fees
Balkanistic Worlds does not charge authors any submission fees, Article Processing Charges (APCs), peer-review fees, or publication fees.
